Strange, how it is regarded with contempt the thought that black people as a social group can cultivate a culture that can be problematic. Yet, the thought is held in no disregard that white people as a social group – not only can, but does – cultivate a culture of racism and oppression.
To say that white people should be held back because they have been dominant for a long time takes life out of life. It shifts focus from the things of value that white people produce and have produced – which in turn may rightfully have given them a position of prominence, and likewise continues to do so – to that of lifeless countermoves and forced equal disposition of an unequal scenery.
Would black people like it if they had been in “dominance” or prominence for a while because of what their endeavors and productions accumulated, and they were then told that they must give way to other people? No, that wouldn’t be fair. Let actions speak for themselves and judge the prominence of people on that. Not the other way around.
Why is it so bad and viewed with such impossibility that white people as a social group may actually have done things which make them stand out in excellence? Does that make them, or the critic, a racist? It can happen to white people as much as it can happen to any other group.
I love black women. They often are very beautiful, have a captivating sense of humor and a wholesome and eccentric personality. I love white men, they often have very attractive physiques and strong, productive and wholesome determination. I love Asian people, their hospitality continues to amaze me. And I love Arab mystics, their spirituality continues to excite and inspire me.
Each race is different and unique because each race has developed different and unique characteristics (on a general level, of course not on an absolute level where exactly every member of a race carries aforementioned characteristics). All races have some characteristics that are positive and some that are negative.
This is just like the Quran says:
“In the diversity of your colors are signs”
We cannot be exactly equal because we aren’t exactly equal. Now, does this mean we aren’t equal on a fundamental human level? Of course not!

I for one believe that the one who does good is rewarded with good, partly inspired from the quranic verse of 55:60.
This doesn’t put others in the negative, for its value does not lie in rivalry. It simply means what it means. Such as that the perceived prominence of white people is, as it seems, a reward.
There lies also much difference in how this scenario is worded. It is very contemporary to use “dominance”, which to me is a very contaminated word in this context. A much more fruitful word is to me “prominence”.
If any other race, on a general level, had cultivated the virtuous characteristics commonly found among white people, then they would have reached prominence. And they have, in history, for example the golden age of Islam.
Prominence does not mean that certain superior characteristics are inherent in a race, but it doesn’t mean that they are inherently absent either.
Focus on creating things of value yourself, whoever you are, and the future will most certainly lower its wings of life and mercy to you.
But seek dominance and “power dynamics” and you set both yourself and others up for failure and destruction.
Being upset about the success of others will not help your own.
